21.06.2016  LOOKING SKYWARD - Tracklisting

Cover

How do you top a burner such as mesh's Automation Baby from 2013? Back then, the band not only hit the top 30 but also released a future fan-favourite ("What can possibly come after this?", they cheered) with strong singles, ruling the clubs and your home stereo alike. Also, the duo had written its heaviest and most energetic songs so far. The just reward were more successful tours and an ever-increasing fan base. mesh have long since progressed from being a mere scene band.

Therefore, they did not even try to apply the formula of Automation Baby to Looking Skyward once more. Although the advance single Kill Your Darlings reminds of Born To Lie, the album's mood and sound are different.
After all, Mark Hockings and Rich Silverthorn have also changed their approach to producing. "Following up to Automation Baby was difficult because we really saw it as our ‚baby'", singer Mark confesses. "For Looking Skyward, we juggled with different ideas, used smartphones, laptops or tablets and walked the streets with audio recorders making samples. The demos were recorded all over the world, we even wrote our own software and made photos in abandoned factories, not to forget a great video."
Apart from that, the focus of Looking Skyward lies on the music itself. Whereas its predecessor marked the Bristol natives' "Sturm und Drang"-period, this record is more accessible and in part poppier (‚Last Man Standing', ‚The Fixer'). Analogue synthesizers (‚My Protector') and classical ballads (‚Before This World Ends') convey a certain retro charm, so it is different while still maintaining mesh's core strengths - an equally synthetic and organic melancholy or wistfulness supported by Mark's incredibly strong singing and Rich's intense arrangements.
Looking Skyward is mesh second fabulous album in a row. "We set out to push ourselves as far as we could and produce an album that we would want to own and love. We hope that we have achieved our goal and that you all enjoy the results for many years to come."

Cover

The presale for the new mesh album Looking Skyward starts today.

The long-awaited follow up to Automation Baby is being released in four different versions: as a regular CD edition, as a limited 2LP edition with special vinyl remastering and 180g pressing, as 2 CD Artbook Edition with 48 pages including lyrics plus 6-track bonus CD - and as box set (500 copies) containing the 2LP, Artbook Edition plus hand numbered certificate for hardcore fans. All formats are released on August 26, and we can only say that our anticipation gets fully rewarded.

Lastly, this is what Mark and Rich have to say on the album:
"We really set our sights high and have poured our hearts and souls into creating Looking Skyward. The album takes you on a journey of energy and emotion set to a moving soundscape of electronics, driving rhythms, atmospheres, samples and noise. We set out to push ourselves as far as we could and produce an album that we would want to own and love. 20.05.2016  KILL YOUR DARLINGS - Tracklisting and Pre-Order

Cover

mesh serves us an appetizer for their forthcoming album Looking Skyward: Kill Your Darlings is the Brits' new single and no mean feat - pounding beats, heavy guitars, a killer bass line, and above it all singer Mark Hocking's fantastic voice. mesh haven't lost their impact since Automation Baby - on the contrary: The band delivers a great hybrid of electronics and guitars without neglecting their stylistic roots. 13.05.2016  KILL YOUR DARLINGS-single and video teaser

Flyer

Recently, it has been curiously quiet in the camp of mesh, but Mark Hockings and Rich Silverthorn have worked hard on their new album, the first single and an accompanying video. The track Kill Your Darlings comes out on July 8 on CD and limited vinyl. As a first impression of this great song, which the band will also perform at Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany, watch the video teaser here. Both, CD and vinyl are available for pre-order as well now!

Due to these scheduled releases, we decided to push back the release of mesh's classical live album recorded at the Gewandhaus Leipzig until winter, but be sure that the band won’t miss a beat up till then.

15.03.2016  10 Years of mesh Fanclub

The mesh fanclub celebrates its anniversary. Today, exactly 10 years ago, the webpage went online. Due to the complaint of a Swedish fan, the website, that was completely in German initially, was translated into English and was thus available in two languages soon after. A few years ago, the website was supplemented with Spanish, the third language. Since then, all the extensive content is available for mesh fans around the world.

Thanks to the support of Mark and Rich as well as the promotion agency and the record company, we get news first-hand and sometimes exclusively. But we also had our share of setbacks: Due to the social media (especially MySpace and Facebook later) the number of visitors to the fanclub forum was decreasing steadily. After a year without any posting, we closed it with a heavy heart, because the administrative effort was no longer supportable.

Nevertheless, we are happy to continue to provide you with lot of information about our favourite band. For the 11th fanclub year, mesh have already announced two albums. So there's much we can expect. On that note: Full speed ahead!

Your mesh Fanclub Team

29.01.2016  mesh announce two albums for 2016

Band

This will be good news for the ever growing mesh-fanbase; The duo will release two albums this year, one live classic album and a full new studio album in the second half of 2016.

In October 2015, mesh rightfully earned standing ovation when they played the spectacular Gothic Meets Classic-event together with a grand orchestra at Gewandhaus Leipzig, Germany, which also highlighted Covenant and Anne Clark. Dependent will release an album of the concert by mid-2016. Together with a smaller ensemble, mesh have also recorded three additional classic tracks that will give you goosebumps as well. The orchestral guise does not only suit mesh well - it's really extraordinary... as you will hear soon!

Additionally, the Bristol boys are busy in the studio, fleshing out a new studio album with the tentative title Looking Skyward. They are even aiming to top their previous burner Automation Baby. We predict this year to be great for mesh-fans!

17.01.2016  EVOLVE – new Sinestar album

To a few mesh fans, the British band Sinestar became well known since their support during the Automation Baby tour. Both bands are from Bristol and Rich produced some songs on the promo CD Running Home EP of their fellow colleagues that was released in 2014. Meanwhile Sinestar signed a record contract with conzoom Records. Now, on 29.01, the second studio album Evolve, including the songs The Same Way, Running Home and Fortunes Faded produced by Richard Silverthorn, will be released. The latter is the new album's first single. Below, find the press release for Evolve.

Cover

Sinestar come from Bristol and release Evolve their new album on conzoom Records. The tracks on Evolve are not only innovative, but also musically bribe by a cool mixture of electronic and guitar sounds. Some of the songs on the new album were produced by Richard Silverthorn of mesh. And the musical near Sinestar to mesh is unmistakable even to the rest of the songs on the album. Rarely electropop was so innovative, atmospheric and danceable, as is the case with the 14 titles of the Evolve album.
The limited edition of the Evolve album contains a bonus CD with the 11 tracks comprehensive Fortunes Faded EP, which features many exclusive tracks. Several tracks were remixed by artists such as Republica, Parralox, Zoon Politicon or People Theatre.
